Can I use my laptop as a disc drive for my desktop PC?

Basically my desktop PC's disc drives have caved in, I have done everything in my power to reinstall them but no joy, I don't have the money or the knowledge to replace them at the moment so I was wondering if there's any cables so I could use for my laptop to act as an external disc drive?
