How do I fix my iTunes library?

My mom has an iTunes account on her computer but doesn't have an ipod and puts music on it. I have an ipod and an iTunes account and when I plug in my ipod to charge it, it will not allow my to put my music on her library or burn CDs. It also won't let me have my own set up. I tried home sharing but that didn't work.
