Is dead rising 2 for xbox 360 an 2 player game?

I bought dead rising 2 a 2 player game? Can we play it with two controllers offline or is it only a 2 player game if I'm online? Is it even a 2 player game? When I bought it from game stop I asked the clerk what was a cool 2 player game? and he recommended dead rising 2 but I bring it home and it's only one player! I'm very new to the xbox 360 any help would be greatly appreciated!
