A problem with launching total war games?

Hi when launch Napoleon total war and Empire total war it flashes black and freezes. Also when playing Rome total war when it goes to loading screen before a battle it flashes to desktop then back to game on on for a while. Could anyone recommend what to do its only happening for Total war games.
