What is the name of this movie?

I remember it was about some kids who were playing baseball, and eventually they lost all their balls in the yard of some creepy house, and they were afraid to jump over the fence to get them. Then this one kid goes home and takes a ball signed by some well-known player, this ball belonged to his father. After this ball winds up in that house's yard, the kid goes after because he was afraid of his father. Can't remember what happened next. Any ideas?
